First appearance "in great style" for the operation Voschion that presented a really excellent oil to our panel. Mario Vošten started producing oil in Sv. Lovreč, ancient medieval town, named after the local church of St. Lawrence from the 8th century. Right here he operates some 2 hectares of olive groves with a total of 500 olive trees. Last year’s harvest yielded 6.2 tonnes of olives, for a total production of 8 hectolitres (800 litres) of extra virgin olive oil.
The only selected, biologically produced olive oil called Vošten, has a clear, golden yellow intense colour; powerful and delicate aroma, rich with wide notes of wild vegetables, fresh cut grass and artichoke. On the palate it is enveloping and highlighted, characterized by balsamic tones of rosemary and mint, together with spicy notes of black pepper and almond.
Highlighted bitterness and harmonic sharpness, this oil marries perfectly with hors raw vegetables d’oeuvres, bruschette, raw meat Carpaccio with porcini mushrooms, marinated salmon, vegetable soups, main courses with mussels, baked fish, oven-baked venison and hard aged cheeses.
