Agroprodukt in Pula is an oil farm founded over 50 years ago and today run by Danijel Marušić, who manages a surface of 45 hectares of specialized olive grove with 10,000 trees. In the last oil harvest 1,200 quintals of olives were produced, which, once crushed in the modern oil mill, yielded 210 hectolitres of extra virgin olive oil.
We recommend the selection proposed to our panel, the Extra Virgin Salvela, which is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with slight light green hues. Its aroma is definite and complex, characterized by ample fruity hints of medium ripe tomato, unripe banana and almond, together with rich aromatic hints of field balm, sage and black pepper. Its taste is rotund and fine, endowed with vegetal notes of artichoke, chicory and lettuce. Bitterness is definite and pungency is distinct and well expressed.
It would be ideal on cep mushroom starters, bruschette with tomatoes, tuna carpaccio, barbecued radicchio, minestroni with vegetables, meat cous cous, grilled swordfish, stewed game birds or animals, hard mature cheese.
