Eliđo Pilato appeared suddenly on the Croatian wine scene in 2002 when his Chardonnay 2001 won the first place in the category of white wines at the national-level wine fair-Vinovita. Pilato has taken pretty good advantage of this opportunity, his white wines meeting high standards, and the gold medals for his Malvasia, Chardonnay and White Pinot won in 2004 at the most prominent Istrian wine show, the Vinistra, are its best confirmation. Pilato made additional efforts to promote his products to the public and he built a pleasant wine-tasting room adjoining his cellar.
